You get to look at the ever fascinating above-cloud landscapes, enjoy the symphony of wailing babies, and of course, fight over the last remaining in-flight meal options. Jet lag, motion sickness, exhaustion – it really is the whole package for all extremes enthusiasts out there. Truly riveting.

And oh, those wonderful baggage allowance rules! I mean, really, how else would you learn the virtue of minimalism in a more direct way? Why would anyone want to take their favorite pair of shoes, multiple outfits, and necessary toiletries when you can instead carry just one toothbrush and two pairs of socks? Size does really matter – when it comes to baggage, at least.

Choosing a class with American Airlines can also be an 'exciting' puzzle. The pocket-crippling first-class where you get to pay for the privilege of becoming friends with your seat? The squeezed-in-like-sardines economy class or the neither-here-nor-there premium economy class? Oh, the choices!
